You would be forgiven to thinking that the only products apple create for the smartphone market are high-end models such as the iPhone 8, 8Plus and the X range. But there was a time where Apple made a more humble phone called the iPhone SE. The thing that made the SE so appealing was that, unlike their higher-end products, the iPhone SE provided a more affordable iPhone for a wider market.
Since it’s discontinuation, Apple hasn’t really had a device to appeal to the masses since the good ol’ iPhone SE, but could an SE 2 be on the way? Quite possibly…
There’s certainly a lot of rumours circulating that we will eventually be getting a new iPhone SE soon.
Adrian Kingsley-Hughes from zdnet.com has drafted up what he thinks a new iPhone SE2 could boast spec wise:
- 4-inch LED display (likely an updated version of the display that shipped on the iPhone SE)
- 32GB to 128GB of storage
- 2GB RAM
- Wireless charging
- A11 Bionic chip (as seen on the iPhone 8)
- Touch ID (because Face ID tech would add too much to the price)
- 12-megapixel rear-facing camera
- 5-megapixel front-facing camera
- Headphone jack
But in regards to its looks, hopefully, we’ll be getting something that’s a little more up to date instead of the iPhone SE’s ancient-looking design.
