There hasn't been much in the way of Snapchat updates recently, especially since Instagram launched its rival (Instagram Stories), but today that's changed!
The first new feature is 'limitless snaps', meaning your Snaps can last as long as you like, or until the receiver closes the snap or app. This applies to both snaps on stories, or when sending them individually. There's now also a 'play forever' option with videos, which loops the video, filling the vine shaped hole that's left in your heart (or phone).
There's also a new Emoji brush feature, which allows you to draw with an emoji, meaning we will be seeing ALOT more Emojis from everyone (will this get annoying? Probably...).
Another tool, which has been dubbed as the 'Photoshop tool' is the 'magic eraser'. This allows you to draw over an object you want to remove from the snap, and it will match its surroundings and remove it! This obviously works better with smaller objects, but it's still an interesting feature!
Lastly, there's been a bit of a move around, with all the creative tools and options now running down the right-hand side of the screen. Snapchat wrote in a statement on the new update, "these changes allow us to continue evolving the Snapchat service and provide a foundation for introducing even more creative tools for making fun snaps."
The only downside of this update I have noticed so far is that the clock timer which we are used to seeing in the top right corner of people's snaps and stories has gone. This was handy to see how long someone's story was, helping me decide if I should comitt and watch it all, or if it's going to be long and annoying, so I should quit while I'm ahead.
